Last week we threw a party for our new client CNCPT by Cruise - the latest online menswear store on the block. Dedmoon and Diagrams soundtracked the evening at 81 Leonard St, whilst Briksa Cider oiled the fashionistas late into the night. www.conceptbycruise.co.uk
Thursday 14th March sees us celebrating the launch of our latest client CNCPT’s webstore. More details to follow later in the week…hit us up to make sure you’re on the list.
The Cul de Sac Gallery is a little gem we’ve been fans of for a while now. Their latest show ‘Point At A Deer Call It A Horse’ showcases politically and socially charged video and performance art from China, including work from Ai Wei Wei, and is well worth a trip south of the river.
We’ve had a busy start to the year over here at Break HQ, so our tumblr has been unforgivably neglected when it comes to updates (although we have been working on a revamp, which will come soon).
We’re switching things up postwise too, starting with This Week’s 5….five things from the news / industry / office / ether that have caught our eye this week.
1. The Face of London Fashion Week.
Our office mate and style maven @chrischass was barely at his desk over the course of London Fashion Week, then we saw this pic and realised why. Thanks to a beautifully crafted @dent_de_man suit he was busy getting papped, so much so that Labrinth then borrowed it for the Brits.

2. No BBC Brekkie.
We’re creatures of habit and that includes starting our day with a bit of BBC Breakfast. So when we were greeted with some dodgy antiques being flogged instead on Monday, as journalistic staff protested against job cuts, it was nearly as disruptive to our day as a tube strike. Having to cancel flagship shows such as this and Radio 4’s Today has obviously had an effect too – as apparently non-journalist staff are hastily being trained up to fill gaps left by any future NUJ walkouts.
3. The Future, as predicted in 1924.
Whilst it’s not brand new, the Fugitive Futurist is still worth a watch as you tick off the predictions that still haven’t come to pass….and find yourself wishing that you could catch a train across the top of Tower Bridge.

4. Whoppergate.
Burger King’s Twitter feed gets hacked, apparently by a McDonald’s fan or a hacker group (depending on who you listen to). It’s plastered in images of the golden arches and claims to have been bought out…but it’s all lies. On the upside they gain around 30,000 new followers.
5. Interns…
….are an invaluable addition to Break HQ and as it’s how we all got started in this game, we like to think we don’t take advantage. Our last was amazing, so it’s with a heavy heart – as well as heaps of congratulations – that we wave goodbye as she heads to towards a more permanent role elsewhere. The JD’s been updated and we’re now accepting applications from people free and available from early / mid-March. DM @breakcomms if you want more info.
El Flaco - introduced to us by a member of the extended Break fam - drops a beautifully shot vid to welcome the new year.
